Tauck today reached out to solo travelers with a series of announcements about its eliminating or reducing single supplements on river boats and land tours in 2023.

Included in the program are:

Tauck president Jennifer Tombaugh told TRO the company is “constantly looking for ways to enhance our products as well as the service we provide to our guests – including those guests who travel without a spouse or companion. We’ve offered single supplement reductions for years, and that in turn, has created more demand. We were very excited several years ago to begin waiving the single supplement entirely on all of our Category 1 riverboat cabins, across our entire fleet, on every itinerary, on 100% of our river cruise departures. My widowed mom, for one, has been thrilled by this!”

Tombaugh noted that the majority of solo travelers are women, to whom the small size of Tauck’s riverboats, such as the new 84-guest MS Andorinha, is of particular appeal.

“Our riverboats are large enough that our solo travelers have the welcome assurance of traveling in a group, but they’re small and intimate enough that they’re cozy, comfortable, and not at all overwhelming,” she said.
