With the holiday season upon us, Tauck has announced a new 2025 river cruise celebrating the traditional Christmas markets and other holiday happenings along the River Seine in France.
The Seine: Holiday Magic begins in Paris, where guests will board Tauck’s ms Sapphire riverboat and enjoy three nights and two full days in the city.
Highlights in Paris will include visits to the city’s Christmas markets, including those in the Tuileries Garden, where guests can shop for local crafts and sample hot mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, sausages, cheeses, chocolates and more. While in Paris, guests will also have a choice of visits to discover medieval works of art at the Cluny Museum, or explore the city’s Gothic Sainte-Chapelle. This royal chapel was conceived by Louis IX to house his personal collection of holy relics, and is today renowned for its stunning 13th-century stained glass windows.
Other cities visited on the eight-day itinerary will include Rouen, Les Andelys and Vernon, with highlights along the way including a private tour and a holiday cocktail party at the opulently decorated Château de Bizy, which was built in 1740 and is still privately owned by a descendant of Napoleon. Guests will also enjoy a private lunch and afternoon tea at Château Vaux-le-Vicomte, also decorated for the season, with time to explore the 100-room moated palace and formal gardens.
In Normandy, guests will have further opportunities to revel in the holiday spirit when they shop for traditional treats at the Christmas markets. The following day, guests will have their choice of guided visits, to either Normandy’s historic D-Day beaches or the Rouen Fine Arts Museum.
The cruise’s many shore excursions will be perfectly complemented by fun seasonal décor and holiday merry-making aboard the ms Sapphire, including musical entertainment, interactive holiday activities with a local artist and more. Tauck will operate five departures of The Seine: Holiday Magic next year, and included in the price are all shore excursions, all gratuities, all onboard beverages (alcoholic and otherwise), all meals, all taxes and fees, airport transfers and more.
