On this day in 1908, the first production Model T automobile left the factory at the Piquette Plant in Detroit, Michigan. Henry Ford's vision for an automobile for the masses was realized. Mass produced with completely interchangeable parts on assembly lines, the Model T launched America's obsession with the automobile.
