The White House

On this day in the year 1800, President John Adams became the first United States President to move into and take up residence in the Executive Mansion, later to be called "The White House."

Adams penned a prayer the next day that read:

"I pray Heaven to bestow the best of blessings on this House, and all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise men ever rule under this roof"

You play a part in the fulfillment of that prayer. In the name of national unity and civic participation, take the time to get out and vote.
