The Deaths of Bonnie and Clyde

Bonnie Elizabeth Parker and Clyde Barrow, better known as "Bonnie and Clyde" share the same date of death: May 23, 1934. On that day, the notorious outlaws were ambushed and killed by Texas and Louisiana law enforcement in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. The two lovers criss-crossed the Central and Southern United States during the Great Depression robbing banks and gas stations with a small gang of relatives and others. Their exploits were known nationwide and later made famous by Hollywood. In truth, however, few gangs have ever been as violent, or as unsuccessful, as Bonnie and Clyde. During the so-called "public enemy era" between 1931 and 1935, the gang killed at least nine police officers.
